Where this actually came from
York Castle High School built this to solve its own problem — then realized every school has it.
It started as a problem only York Castle needed solved: their own
registrar losing an entire afternoon per student — retyping the
letterhead, pulling five to seven years of term reports, comparing
Christmas against Summer by hand for every subject, converting CSEC and
CAPE results into the school’s own pass codes from memory. Rather than
keep absorbing that cost every single time a transcript was needed,
York Castle
had Transcripta built to make it disappear entirely — for their own
registrar, on their own real students, first. Once it was actually
working, the obvious thing became hard to ignore: every secondary school
still doing this by hand has the exact same afternoon disappearing,
over and over. So York Castle is making the same tool it built for
itself available to the schools sitting right alongside it.
Proven on real students first, not a demo
Every real bug this software has ever had — a wrong GPA, a
letterhead that silently didn’t match what was typed in Settings, a
page that looked right on screen and printed wrong — got caught
because it was actually being used for York Castle’s own real
students, not shown off in a demo first and fixed later.
One school proved it, on purpose, before any other
York Castle chose to get this right for its own registrar completely
before offering it to anyone else — the honesty panel above isn’t
a disclaimer bolted on for trust, it’s the actual order things
happened in.
